NINA MEYERHOF

How to be Peaceful in Times of Conflict With Dr. Nina Meyerhof

In this week’s episode, we talk with Dr. Nina Meyerhof, founder of Children of the Earth, a worldwide organization that empowers youth working for peace. She also is the founder of the One Humanity Institute (OHI) for peace and regeneration in Auschwitz, Poland. Nina’s innovative work in peace and sustainability through educational methodologies has reached young people in over 100 countries. She has won many awards including the Mother Theresa Award, International Educators Award, Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award and recently had a school named after her in Kenya.

Nina’s philosophy of being a “Peaceful Warrior” emphasizes the internal and external tools needed to navigate turbulent times with compassion, wisdom, and action. As a global leader in peace education, she advocates for a holistic approach to peace-building that combines spiritual activism, self-awareness, and global empathy

In this conversation, you'll learn:

  • Nina shares her inspiring experiences in meeting Lama Gangchen in 1996, including introducing him to the Dharmakaya Foundation in Thailand creating a life long friendship and partnership of Theravada and Mahayana Buddhism.
  • Lama Gangchen taught Nina the importance of bringing peace into every situation and being open to the vast wisdom of his healing and spirituality. Lama Gangchen personally mentored Nina and empowered her to be a voice of peace and the true essence of being a peace warrior.
  • Being a Peaceful Warrior in times of conflict requires a balance of inner strength, empathy, wisdom, and action. Dr. Nina Meyerhof’s work serves as a reminder that true peace is not merely the absence of conflict but the presence of understanding, self-awareness, compassion and love.
